Glitches in the Stars

The stars don’t
shine brightly like they used to

I feel the irony
they bring.

The coldness
touches the delicate skin.

Rather than the
flaming passion that must be cast

The stars don’t
shine brightly like they used to

I see the
darkness closing in.

The moon, with
no companions around to serve the mortal kings of the Earth, wastes its time on
the North.

Day after day I
patiently wait for them to appear, disappointment is all I expect.

The stars don’t
shine brightly like they used to

Constellations
to act as angels to us sailors, amaze the weakened, is nowhere to be found.

I start to
despise you, but how could I loathe something that has helped me enough?

Is it you who I
should seek, or me you should find?

The stars don’t
shine brightly as they used to

Fireflies in the
night, a ticking bomb!

I thank the
Heavenly beings for the blessing of light, but I understand that it is time to
go.

Blasting your
perfection into miniature bits of beauty and hoping that someone shall pickup
your dying pieces.
